Ten Search Queries that Brought Readers to SofR

One of the more rewarding things about running a website is that you get to see people's funny, crazy, and random search queries that ultimately lead them to your site. For example, if you search for “science of relationships” in Google, Bing, etc., our site is probably the top search result. That makes sense. But people often come across our site because of some other really interesting search terms.

Of the thousands of queries that have led readers to SofR, here are ten of our favorites [with commentary], including links to the articles we assume each search yielded:

10. “cee lo’s stance on science” [Who actually cares what Cee Lo Green thinks about science? Is there concern that he’s anti-science? He's not running for president.]

9. “marge simpson having sex with moe” [Variations on this one come up quite often; you’d be surprised how many people are looking for information about Marge’s sex life (surely another one of life’s critically important questions).]

8. “divorced and being poor sucks” [Yes, it does.]

7. “what is the name of the idea that opposites attract?” [Answer: opposites attract.]

6. “electronic whistle malaysia” [Is that what the kids are calling it these days? I must have missed our article on this topic.]

5. “relationships without trust is a like a car” [Please don’t leave us hanging; we’d love to know the rest of the analogy.]

4. “the best site for relationship science” [Yup, you found it…Is there any competition?]

3. “how to stroke a narcissist” [Ask Denise Richards.]

2. “evolutionary link to foot attraction” [We don’t know of any studies on this, but maybe a call to David Buss is in order?]

1. “do gay couples share underwear?” [In comparison to the other search terms, this one seems pretty reasonable.]
